Trae Young 20 Points/12 Assists Full Highlights (11/11/2018)

This is Trae Young’s first game with 4 or more triples since his third game as a pro. He’s seemingly forgotten how to shoot over the past few, as his percentage on triples has dropped to 26 percent. It’s an issue of shot selection, surely: hard to be efficient when you’re jacking them from the logo and you hardly ever get a nice, clean catch-and-shoot. Hard for everyone except Stephen Curry and Brook Lopez.

He’ll figure it out. No worries. Look at tonight’s performance: 4 of 8 from deep! That’s 50 percent, and I didn’t even have to use my calculator to figure that out. And even if he’s never the three-point shooter that he was hyped as (unlikely), he can always fall back on his elite passing. Yeah, I said elite. There are only a handful players with more assists than him. Look it up.

If you want my opinion on whether Young’s game-winning attempt (not shown) was goaltended or not by Tyson Chandler, sorry. I’m not about to do frame by frame analysis of the ball’s trajectory to see if it was on it’s way down or not. It’s a matter of, do you like the narrative of Young hitting a game winner more or less than Chandler saving the game for his new team. Pick your side of the fence and boom, there’s your opinion on the goaltending.
