Usually I’m eager to label anything and everything as a REVENGE GAME, but I’m taking a step back here and re-evaluating my criteria for revenginess. Let’s run down the list and see if Wayne “Beef W” Ellington scoring nineteen in this game really does qualify:
Revenge Game Criterion 1: The game must be against a former team (check)
Revenge Game Criterion 2: The player in question must score an amount of points worthy of a highlight video (check)
Revenge Game Criterion 3: The player must be fondly remembered by fans of the former team (doubtful)
Revenge Game Criterion 4: The player must have vengeful intent and play with more intensity than normal (doubtful)
Optional Revenge Game Criterion 5: The player should have left the former team under acrimonious circumstances, such as by trade or waivage
Making our judgment solely off those criteria, it appears that Wayne Ellington did not, in fact, have a REVENGE GAME against his the Lakers, whom he played for in the 2014-15 season. Maybe I should discard the criteria since it’s more fun from a storyline perspective of players are having REVENGE GAMES all the time.
