Dante Cunningham 19 Points/5 Threes Full Highlights (11/19/2018)

Just two days after Danny Green notched a perfect 7-for-7 shooting performance, and on the very same day that Hamidou Diallo achieved the same statistical feat, Dante Cunningham has also contributed his name to the immortal list of 7-of-7 shooters. With his five three-pointers and his two two-pointers, his name must now be inscribed upon the sacred stone tablet which bears the names of these uncannily accurate shooters.

Doing all this chiseling is making me tired, though. I’m kind of a weakling and it takes a lot of effort to inscribe people’s names into a hard slab of stone. The only thing that keeps me from giving up is the knowledge that, even when humanity wipes itself out with global nuclear annihilation (or an ultra-deadly biological agent that spreads like wildfire through a vulnerable human population), this stone tablet of perfect shooting nights will be perfectly preserved beneath the rubble. Future alien researchers might not be able to access the servers that once housed basketball-reference’s immense warehouse of basketball statistics, but they will always be able to read my stone tablet.

Just so you aren’t worried, yes, I did inscribe the addendum “(REVENGE GAME)” to Cunningham’s entry on my tablet. Because this was definitely a REVENGE GAME. Cunningham served the Pelicans faithfully for years, never receiving recognition for his role, and then was traded to the Nets for some complete scrub-bucket named Rashad Vaughn (just kidding Rashad, I love you). Just like that, his tenure with the Pelicans was done without so much as a “thank you”. That’s why this game had an extra “REVENGE” component to it.
