Not like Allonzo Trier isn’t getting a good amount of hype, but shouldn’t an undrafted rookie scoring 11 points per game in the nation’s largest media market be getting shoved down our throats constantly? The Knicks don’t have much to be really excited for (WTF is wrong with Kevin Knox come on you guys told me he’d be good), so shouldn’t the one bit of hope that they do have be the subject of endless fawning articles and social media bombardment?
Knicks PR people, you have to step it up. You have to SELL Trier. Trying to sell ticket packages? Say that the reason to come see the Knicks is to see this season’s hottest rookie. It’s not lying if you follow through by playing Trier highlights on the jumbotron all game and buying off some podcasters to spend half an hour talking about how great he is.
How do you think Ben Simmons got so popular? Because he was good, sure, but also because of MARKETING. Trier needs to be marketed. The production can come later, but oh no, the production is already here and there’s still no PR push. He just scored 24 while diming his teammates 7 times and there are probably Lakers fans who haven’t even heard of him yet.
