I like it when the Hawks commentator expresses confusion over the fact that Kyle Korver keeps getting left open. For Korver, “open” means “just barely enough time to shoot what would be a crappy three for everyone else”. In reality, opposing teams rarely leave Kyle actually open for any length of time. His gravity on offense is so great that teams will do almost anything to avoid giving him a look.
That’s why he doesn’t score 20 a game like it seems like he should. All but one of his makes tonight was contested fairly well, and he hit eight of nine.
Now if only he’d stop stealing my girlfriends.
