We need a nickname for Sean Kilpatrick. He is officially good enough now. Before, it’s like, why give a nickname to a guy who will just be back in the D-League in a few games? Now, it’s like, this guy is a beast, and I don’t even care that he’s already 26.
It turns out that I have already come up with one: “Irish Kobe”. Pretty sweet, huh? Because he shoots it like Kobe and he’s Irish. Perfect! But wait: it turns out that another player in the NBA is already using that moniker: Johnny O’Bryant.
This sucks. I already assigned this primo grade-A nickname to a scrub who never plays and will never be good. Luckily for Sean, I don’t really envision a scenario where the first Irish Kobe sticks around in the league after this year. So, next season, he can have his rightful nickname while Johnny plays in Europe or something, but for now, we’ll have to settle for calling him “The Kilswitch”.
