The Phoenix Suns are going to have hard time living up to the funness they displayed last year. In part because people are expecting them to be good instead of being awful, and also due to a perfect storm of contract years and Gerald Green going nutso.
The West got stronger (except for OKC, RIP in peace), and the Suns, at best, stayed the same. I’m not joking when I say that Channing Frye was a key component of last season’s fun. Isaiah Thomas just doesn’t fit in his shoes.
Gerald Green, thankfully, will always be the same player he is now. Always chucking away with his mere 9.5 fingers not hindering him in any way. Making some boneheaded plays and getting benched, then coming back in and shooting the Suns back into a game. Jamming with grace and ferocity reserved for the very best dunkers, with whom he surely resides.
Or, in this game, hitting a bunch of free throws. WOOO! Exciting!
