Just last game, Shabazz “Bozzy” Muhammad took a significant step forward in his development as an NBA player. It happened right before my eyes, and it astounded me. I don’t doubt that Man Tears were shed in the Target Center as it occurred.
Shabazz made a contested, long two-pointer.
This is the first phase of evolution. The zeroth phase was layups, dunks, and jump-hooks. The second phase: three-pointers. I don’t expect Shabazz to enter the third phase for several years, and it is doubtful that he ever reaches the fourth phase, which is Nowitzki turnarounds. The fifth phase, nobody has yet to even come close to: jumping from beyond the arc for a three-point dunk.
Oh well. Long twos are pretty awesome too, all things considered. Props to my man Bozzy for taking the next step.
