It would not be fair to say that I “hate” Gary Neal. I’ve obviously never met the dude, I’m sure he’s a fine human being once you get to know him. His time with the Bucks resulted in me becoming frustrated in the quality of his play, but that’s as far as any animosity goes. He’s not on the Bucks anymore and I’m happy to see him produce for another team.
With that said, screw Gary Neal.
He’s living proof that the Spurs can make any trash look good. He does not move the needle in appreciable way; he has never elevated the play of anyone around him, and his prodigious chucking is only matched by his bad attitude if his precious minutes are taken away. He already requested a buyout from the Timberwolves so that he could go to a contender, as if any contender still feels like they have a space for a less charismatic Nick Young. I’m glad that the spirit of Stephen Jackson continues to haunt him no matter where he goes or which team he plays for.
