Tyreke Evans was the man who robbed Stephen Curry of his rightful Rookie of the Year award. The voters were too blinded by his raw stats to even notice a burgeoning beast in Golden State. This mistake can not be rectified; Tyreke’s name will forever be etched in the runestone of ROY winners, immutable. There won’t even be an asterisk next to it.
It only makes sense, then, that Curry would exact revenge by winning the MVP trophy and securing a ring for his finger, thoroughly outplaying and eventually defeating Tyreke in the playoffs. What goes around, comes around, Tyreke. He should have thought of that truism when selfishly gunning during his rookie year.
His attempts in this game to become a three-point marksman are too little, too late. Everyone can shoot threes now, and making five in a single contest is impressive for him only because of his previous ineptitude from downtown. Give up, Tyreke. You have lost. Forever.
