Nikola Vucevic is one of those players whose true shooting percentage is basically the same as their “real” shooting percentage. That’s because he doesn’t really shoot free throws and he really really doesn’t shoot threes. Apparently he is now an elite passing big, but that doesn’t count towards your true shooting percentage. It should, though, because your teammates shoot 100% on shots that you assist them on. That would help anybody’s percentages.
Given how successful Vucci Mane is at scoring the rock, it’s not exactly my place to tell him to do things differently, but screw that. I’m the NBA expert here. He’s just some caveman who does what his coach tells him. I think he should post up on every possession, even when he has an unfavorable matchup, and slam people around with his body until the refs start giving him more free throws. He also needs to float around the three point line and shoot it whenever he catches it out there. If you’re thinking Charlie Villanueva style, you’re on the right track, except Vooch will shoot it even faster. And Vooch has hair.
Let’s be real for a second. Hoochie Voochie has a wet midrange jumper out to twenty feet. The three point line is only a few feet longer than that. It has been proven time and time again that bigs with a midrange game can extend it out a bit and still shoot 35%. Chris Bosh did it. Anthony Davis did it. DeMarcus Cousins sort of did it. Kris Humphries did it, and Kris Humphries sucks.
All I want is for Nik to up his TS%. I’m not trying to lower his trade value so the Bucks can get him. Why would I want that?
