Instead of being a nightly 20/10 threat and defensive anchor like he should have been, now Bogues is reduced to being a nightly 5/8 threat and defensive anchor. All thanks to Stoudemire mistaking Bogut for a fire extinguisher and trying to punch him out of the air while he dunked.
Injuries often rob NBA fans of seeing a player reach their potential, but it is rare that the injury is deliberately and blatantly inflicted by another player. If you want to watch the clip of Bogut’s arm injury again (not for the faint of heart), you can actually hear Amar’e whisper “nighty night Bogut” as he chases him down the court. I’m sure Amar’e didn’t think the cameras would pick it up but it’s right there for everybody to hear. So this isn’t a conspiracy or anything. Amar’e ruined Bogut’s career ON PURPOSE.
