Is this the first time ever that a team has fielded a lineup composed entirely of scrubs in a game not occurring at the very end of the season? Because there’s still like a quarter of the season left, and the Nets just trotted out the most baffling collection of players I’ve ever bore witness to. I’ve been waiting to do highlights of a bunch of these dudes, so I’m in luck that Brooklyn scored 118 points.
Sean Kilpatrick is the first one up. He was on the Bucks’ Summer League team, and he wasn’t that good, so I’m kind of confused as to how he keeps getting gigs in the NBA, but what do I know? He was tearing up the D-League which counts for something, I guess. He had a good game or two in a Timberwolves’ uni last year, and now he’s had two good games in a row for the Nets.
I almost did highlights of him scoring 12 last night, but a little voice in my head said “Dude it’s the Nets they’re going to play him like 20 minutes next game because he showed he could sometimes put the ball in the hole.”, and that little voice ended up being right. A career high 19 points, a Nick Young-esque three, a dunk, and a confused and bewildered crowd wondering who any of the players they were watching were.
