How many triple-doubles would Russell Westbrook have this season if it weren’t for Enes Kanter? I’m going to be generous and say one, even though I bet the answer is closer to zero. That’s just my gut feeling on the matter. Maybe if someone actually calculated it they’d find that it’s negative, even. Negative triple-doubles.
Enes Kanter seems to exist solely as a sponge for Westbrook assists. He has good hands to catch even poorly-thrown passes, and is extremely good at finishing. It doesn’t matter that he can’t defend Yi Jianlian’s chair. Does defense help Westbrook get triple-doubles? Hell no. If Westbrook wins MVP this year (why are you laughing?), he’d better give a quarter of the award to Enes for being the assist-vacuum that he is.
