Whenever I watch D’Angelo Russell play, I get reminded of Kendall Marshall. That’s not a bad thing. I love me some K-Butter, and I wish that he would play well for a team again. He was way more of a passer with the Lakers, almost to a fault, compared to Russell, who, well, needs to pass a lot more than he does if he wants to be a PG in the NBA. Alright, alright, bad comparison, I know. I’m just saying, there are some aesthetic similarities between their respective games.
Mainly in the shooting form. There were some serious questions about Russell’s ability to shoot coming into the draft, and it’s good to see that he’s making his unorthodox no-jump jumper work for him. Kind of. Working better than Kobe’s this year, at least.
