I was told by reputable sources that Boban Marjanovic would appear in every game for the Clippers. You know who told me that? It wasn’t the voices in my head, it wasn’t your mom, it wasn’t even the internet. It was Doc Rivers, who, if you’re not aware, is the god-damn coach of the Clippers so he should know when Boban is going to play and when he’s not going to play. Christ. He could at least tell us when he’s going to be telling blatant falsehoods so we can know not to get our hopes up for extended Boban action.
The three games prior to this, Marjanovic hadn’t played at all. DNP. The game before that, he played for the final .3 seconds to defend the final inbounds play, successfully getting a steal. That’s elite per 36 production right there.
I don’t know what the deal is. This is not the first time Marjanovic has turned a loss into a win simply by being so huge that no one can deal with him. I sort of get that he has problems with certain matchups, but here’s the deal: he’s the matchup problem. He’s the one teams have to gameplan around when he’s in the game. If he has a favorable matchup, he feasts.
I had already given up hope that he will ever see consistent minutes. Rivers claimed he would, but deep in my heart, and knew he was lying. I will never love again. And not only because I’m totally done with women forever.
