This is what Dante Cunningham does. He shoots long jumpers. He might have other aspects of his game which are above average; if he does, I don’t know about them. His long-two launching ability is matched by few.
It only makes sense, then, that he’d attempt to add a corner three to his arsenal. It’s not any longer than some of the stuff he’s taking already. All that time spent waiting for a team to sign him must have been spent on this.
And now it has paid off. He hit a three this game, plus a couple more with his feet on the line. Is this end for the Luke Babbitt as a starter experiment? It better not be. Cunningham might be a good player, but he’s no Luke Babbitt.
