I have not been as faithful in my compilation of Ish Smith highlights as I, were I a perfect person, should have been. I claim to love spotlighting the un-spotlit, to enjoy nothing more than to showcase the unshowcased or unshowcasable. I still like to think that I remain true to my channel’s stated goals.
But how many god damn Ish highlights do I have to make here? This is my 11th one, and it’s not like this dude is a very exciting player. Everyone else I’ve made 10 or more highlights of this season is a hype-worthy young talent (except Brook Lopez, who I’ve also grown to dread). Ish is a fine player, and it’s great that he’s getting big minutes. But no one really is that hyped for him. Maybe some 76ers fans think he’s great for the development of their young bigs. But that’s as far as it goes. It’s not like there Warriors fans watching this and wondering how they let him get away.
