The Pelicans’ coach, Monty Williams, said before the season that Jimmer Fredette had the green light. Was he just screwing with us? That was a weird thing to say, normally an underperformer like Jimmer wouldn’t be given carte blanche to shoot any shot he wanted on a new team. And he hasn’t. So why did Monty say that? To get the Mormon hitmen off his back?
Fredette has found out firsthand that not being the man isn’t as fun as being the man. That, combined with a slump so far this season, means Jimmermania is at an all-time low in terms of intensity.
Stop crying into your fry-sauce, Jimmer maniacs! Jimmermania was officially resurrected at the end of the third quarter against the spurs, and again for a little bit in the fourth. He’ll be shooting four-pointers like his old self in no time!
Of course, all of this is just biding time until he finally gets traded to the Jazz like we all know should happen.
