OJ Mayo was bad last year. Fat and bad. The latest in a horrible string of acquisitions by the Bucks intended to score bunches of points. Screw you Stephen Jackson. I hate you so much. You too, Corey Maggette.
Happily for the Bucks, OJ lost some weight and came into the season with a new improved attitude. It paid off at the beginning of the year (well, the first two games anyway), and I began to wonder of he would be a legit scoring threat this year.
Then he hit a slump, and his scoring averages are down to career lows. I think he’s just getting unlucky; it’s not like he’s mindlessly chucking shots that never ever go in. I feel he takes good shots in the flow of the offensive, most of the time.
Except when Giannis Antetokounmpo passes him the ball. It’s like he wants to boost Giannis’ assist totals by shooting it as soon as he receives it from the Greek, no matter what the situation. Gotta love the devotion to your teammate’s stats instead of your own!
