Kobe Bryant is retiring. That’s what he said, at least, and I’ll take him at his word on this one. The end of an era, or something, right? Yeah.
His imminent departure from the NBA opens up a huge hole. A hole that is called “who is going to shoot a whole bunch of bad pullup jumpers right in defenders’ faces?”. It’s a big hole. Someone needs to step in and fill it, otherwise the weight distribution of the league will be seriously unbalanced.
This is where Gerald Green steps in. Did you watch this video yet? Some of you weirdos read the description first; I command you to stop reading and start watching. Alright, now everyone has seen the highlights. We can now all agree on this point: Green took a bunch of bad jumpers right in defenders’ faces. And he canned a bunch of them.
Are you thinking what I’m thinking? I’m not saying that Green can be a perfect Kobe replacement. But he can be an adequate one, as long as he gets his own team next year. Milwaukee Bucks? Sounds good to me.
