Say what you will about Jahlil Okafor’s deficiencies in certain areas of the game, but damn, it’s fun to watch him get buckets.
He might not be the most efficient at getting buckets, or have the best bucket-selection. Maybe he could get fewer buckets and work on passing. Three-point buckets are not a thing for him. But it’s still totally rad to watch him take the ball like it’s a grapefruit and manipulate him and it past defenders for a score.
I think, with all the folderol about three-point shooting and a certain MVP-winner, some people have forgotten how much fun post play is. Like when I’m playing pickup ball. Even though I’m not that tall and not that strong, I enjoy doing stupid spins and hooks and stuff in the post. Doesn’t everybody? Flinging up an off balance running hook while yelling “Kareem” is the most fun thing in the world. Especially when it goes in. Which it does. Sometimes. Not all the time. But sometimes.
