Another typical Nikola Vucevic game: 13 of 19 from the field, no threes attempted, no free throws attempted. Is there something wrong with him where he doesn’t want to ever receive contact? For the amount of shots he attempts that aren’t threes, you’d think he would at least sometimes get to the line.
I’m not complaining. Free throws, simply put, are boring and a waste of time, despite their importance in the game of basketball. No one wants to watch them, and Nikola is simply giving the people what they want: field goals and field goal attempts.
His lack of threes, though, I am complaining about that. He’s shown the ability to hit them sparingly in the past, but I think he could do so much more with it, given his lethality from midrange. Aaron Gordon gets to shoot threes, and he sucks at them. Why not Nikola? Is this another occasion to blame Scott Skiles? Yes.
