It’s unfortunate for Jae Crowder that he has improved so much in a season where C.J. McCollum and Will Barton have also improved by a ton. In lots of years, he would be getting serious consideration for the Most Improved Player award. Instead, he gets to toil in obscurity for a decent but unexciting Celtics team.
Another problem is that a large part of his value is on the defensive end, which happens to be the end of the court where none of the MIP-award-votership care at all. It’s just not meant to be for Clam Crowder.
That’s okay, though. I nominate him for my newly created “Best Hair” award, which is just as prestigious in my unbiased opinion.
