I was getting all ready to resume my mockery of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s jumpshot form as soon as he came back from injury. I had like two whole paragraphs of material written where I basically just rip him and his ugly elbows-every-which-way jumper a new one. Well, now he’s officially back from injury, and he did shoot a jumper (which obviously didn’t go in), but from the angle that I saw, I couldn’t get a good read on whether the form was crooked or if he had fixed it. So I can’t even use that material that I worked so hard on.
I mean, he probably didn’t fix it. He’s been “fixing it” for years and I think the layers of fixes have just made it more broken. It’s like painting your room with eight different colors of paint all on top of each other without letting any of them dry. It’s not going to work.
There’s some phrase I heard a while ago. “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” I think that’s a stupid phrase. I have no evidence that MKG repaired his borked-to-hell-and-back jumper but that doesn’t mean that he did. Hopefully he clears it up for me in the next few games by taking and making a few more J’s.
