Since pretty much winning the three-point shootout (a rook going toe-to-toe with the Splash Brothers counts as a win to me), Devin Booker has smashed into the rookie wall and broken his three-point stroke, shooting 28% from deep over those 6 games.
This is not totally unexpected. Seeing him do so well against the premiere shooters of the NBA let opposing defenses know that they should probably be defending him, and since there are barely any other credible offensive threats on the Suns, that’s a fairly easy task to accomplish. And, sadly, it is leading to slumpy-wumps for the Booker Report.
Until now! Whiteside is a good defender, but for some reason he wasn’t matched up with Booker, and it lead to a career high. 34 points is really great for a guy who probably wasn’t even alive when 9/11 happened.
