It would be easy to blame D’Angelo Russell for tonight’s loss against the Grizzlies, since he had that costly turnover with 20 seconds left in regulation, but that wouldn’t be fair. He did so much other good stuff and honestly, I would place most of the blame on Jaren Jackson who scored 36 unearned points despite him not passing the eye test at all. In any fair universe (of which there are either zero or untold billions depending on what you think about multiple universe theory), Jackson would’ve scored 0 points and this would’ve been a blowout win in regulation for the Nets.
Also in that universe, I wouldn’t have to pay several hundred dollars for just one Biggie Smalls sweater. Christ.
However, we can totally blame him for the previous loss to the Jizz, because he went 6 of 25 that game. Right now I can’t think of any player who has missed more shots in a game this year besides Donovan Mitchell when he missed 22. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that statline because I find no joy in giving praise to players and am always looking for ways I can tear them down.
