T.J. “Warren Peace” Warren took a step towards strengthening his personal brand by showing out on national TV to the tune of thirty points. With the eyes of the nation upon him, he carried the scoring load for the Suns as they went on to get their first win in ten games by beating the Mavericks.
The only problem is, I don’t think anybody was actually watching the game even though it was on national TV. NBA fans have come to expect fast-paced, offense-oriented shootouts, and what the Mavericks and Suns were doing could only be termed a “shootout” if you frame it as all of their “shots” were going “out” of the rim. A game where neither team scores 100 is a rarity these days, but these two teams manage to do it, to all of our detriments but especially to the detriment of Warren Peace, who desparately needs more exposure.
The only option for him now is to start a fashion/makeup/hair-styling vlog where he gives black men tips on how to have cornrows and generally look fashionable. There’s a million YouTube channels out there dedicated to providing this content for women, but there’s less of it for men. That’s what I’m assuming anyway, since I don’t need hipsters on YouTube telling me that my uniform of jeans and a T-shirt isn’t the height of male fashion (it totally is). When Warren gets this channel off the ground and becomes an icon in the black fashion community and he’s collecting dem YouTube checks, basketball and the notoriety gained from it will almost be an afterthought.
