There was a stretch of this game where, in five possessions for the Hornets, Miles Bridges shot a wide open three on four of them (making two). The other one he got a tough and-one finish. The Lakers were simply not respecting his ability to make an outside shot, I don’t know why because he’s shooting pretty decently from outside, anyway, he made them pay. A little bit. I think he may have airballed one of the other ones, I’m too lazy to check now.
That five-possession stretch might have been the most productive part of the game for Charlotte, thus making Bridges their best offensive player. Someone needs to step up if Kemba Walker is going to keep regressing (or returning to the mean) after his hot start, why not Bridges? He’s exciting in a way that Walker isn’t. He can dunk, for one thing. And half the time when he dunks it’s a double pump dunk.
