Luka Doncic 28 Points/9 Assists Full Highlights (12/16/2018)

We’re in game two of the Luka Doncic/Dirk Nowitzki experiment, and I still haven’t seen a single completed lob between the two of them. I’m not picky. I would accept either a Doncic-to-Nowitzki alley-oop connection, or a Nowitzki-to-Doncic alley-oop connection. Is that so much to ask? But not only have I not seen any lobs from Euro to Euro, I haven’t even seen any regular assists between them!

Time is running out for them to develop chemistry on the court. The season is already, what, a third over already? If they want to develop the most devastating pick-and-roll combo ever seen since Malone/Stockton, they need to get working. This is the kind of stuff that you can’t just work on in practice. You need to do it in game, against real defenders who really want to prevent you from scoring and don’t feel bad that there’s a 20-year age gap.

It took a little bit for Doncic to develop chemistry with DeAndre Jordan, but now things are running smoothly between them (a little light on the Jordan-to-Doncic lobs, but it’s coming, I can feel it). Nowitzki is a WAY better and savvier player than Jordan. He knows how to do this. Doncic knows how to do this. So why isn’t it happening?
