Evan Fournier 24 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (12/21/2018)

The 80 points that the Magic scored against the Bulls represents the fourth-lowest score for a team this season. Here are the scores that were worse: the Jazz scored 68 (LOL[lots of laughs]), the Maic scored 76, and the Bulls scored 77.

Now imagine if Fournier had, instead of putting up a nice 24/6 line, put up a statline that’s more typical for him this season, something like 12/3. I know it’s painful to imagine these things, especially if you’re a Magic fan who’s just trying to relive the one good thing about this game, but I want you to follow along with me. If Fournier had just played to season norms, the Magic wouldn’t even have hit seventy in the game. That’s how bad everybody else was playing.

This might come off as somewhat reactionary, but I’ve decided that the Magic have actually surpassed the Kings in terms of total team-wide ineptitude from top to bottom. Their perpetual rebuild has made negative progress since it started all those years ago. Fournier’s always been more of a victim of the whole situation than the cause of it so I won’t even acknowledge the fact that he’s regressed hard this year.
