Remember when the Bulls players had a discussion (thru texts) among themselves about whether or not they should boycott practice in wake of Jim Boylen’s terrible coaching and insensitive comments to the media which basically threw the players under the bus? I wonder how Wendell Carter Jr. felt about that whole thing. It’s hard to get a read on him because, as far as I can tell, nobody ever asks his opinion on anything so I don’t know what he thinks about anything.
Was he sitting on the sidelines going “wait guys we shouldn’t overthrow our coach like this” or was he charging full-steam ahead like “yeah let’s not go to practice and garpax will have to fire this clown and then Jabari can go back to getting minutes”? Or did he just not respond to any of the messages at all and pretend that nothing was happening. The “sorry guys my battery died” trick.
Whatever the case may be, he certainly should have no issue personally with Boylen, given that he’s been granted the starting center position from the get-go and is mostly getting the minutes he deserves. The next Elton Brand in Chicago? I’m thinking yes. At the very least, he’s already better than being the next Tyrus Thomas.
