Bojan Bogdanovic: number one option on the Pacers since Victor Oladipo got injured? I’m not sure if the concept of “number one option” exists on the Pacers right now, but if it does, I’m just going to go ahead and say that he is it. Who else would it even be? Bogdanovic might not seem like the number-one-option type of player, but everyone else is even less like that except for Tyreke Evans, and we all know how he’s doing this year.
The Pacers, bless their little hearts, and still winning some games despite the absence of their best player. There are reasons for this slightly unexpected success that are too complicated to explain right now, but for now I’m going to give Bogdanovic some major props for scoring 16 points per game this season. And for shooting 50 percent from three.
Now some un-props for him: he needs to shoot way more threes. At 50 percent, you’re basically hurting your team badly every time you DON’T shoot it. It’s like those hypotheticals that people love to talk about, like “how valuable would a 3-foot tall balding midget be if he was guaranteed to make half of his threes?”. That hypothetical is in the NBA RIGHT NOW, except he’s not a 3-foot tall midget, he’s a 6-foot, 8-inch balding hunk of man meat.
