Jamal Murray 31 Points Full Highlights (12/28/2018)

Jamal Murray is shooting below 30 percent from deep this season. I knew he wasn’t doing well from out there, but I didn’t realize it was that bad. Why isn’t anyone talking about this? This is, like, the perfect time for a bunch of haters to emerge from their swampy hovels and talk crap. But I haven’t even seen one thing one social media asking “Is Jamal Murray overrated?” with the clear implication being that, yes, he’s overrated, and it’s because he sucks from three, and also because he’s worse from two and from the stripe.

One thing that shields him from too much criticism is the fact that his team is winning. Tons of underperforming-compared-to-their-usual-standard players evade detection because the are still helping their team win, or at least tagging along for the ride while better players lead their team to wins. I thing that Murray is still helping the Nuggets out, if only because it helps to have an 18-ppg scorer while all your other 18-ppg scorers are injured (Harris, Millsap, Barton, am I forgetting anyone?).

Maybe he’s just in a slump. He probably is just in a slump. Remember when he started his career missing his first 100 shots like Anthony Bennett? And he turned out just fine. Murray, not Bennett. Bennett definitely did not turn out “just fine”.
