It’s taken a few years, but a team has finally figured out how much upside Hassan Whiteside has. I probably won’t even use his name to refer to him, just “Upside” will suffice.
Upside was cruelly relegated to Lebanon after not getting much burn with the Kings in his first two years. There was a rumor either last year or the year before that the Bucks were looking at bringing him back. Let me tell you, I was super hyped. It didn’t happen, and I still don’t understand why.
Now the Heat are reaping the rewards. Tonight was by far the best game of Upside’s career, he was dunking it without mercy. Who cares if he can’t really defend Dwight Howard? He’s still young, still learning the nuances of the NBA game. You might point to how many points Upside had in garbage time, and I might point you in the direction of the exit. There is no room for doubters on this hype train.
