Brandon “I’m More of a Bass Man Myself” Bass has not shown any willingness or ability to shoot three-pointers over a career that has spanned nearly a decade. Before this momentous game, he only had made two, and they both came last year. With this one, he brings his career percentage above the 10% mark at 3-of-29.
Despite this video showing something that we might never see again, it’s not going to be one of my most popular videos. Boston is a basketball backwater right now, and Bass never was a very exciting player. These factors combine to make Bass one of the more-overlooked players in the league. He just keeps quietly putting together good seasons, but he lacks the ability to score in large amounts since he can’t create for himself.
His contracts ends after this season. He’ll be thirty years old. How much money is this guy going to get? Two mil per year? Three? Is Orlando going to overpay to bring him back? Will he wash out of the league and head to China to average 30 and 14 like he’s back in high school? I don’t know, but whatever happens, I probably won’t be surprised.
