I got all excited when I saw Austin River’s stats for tonight, because, in the darkened neuronal pathways of my feeble mind, it meant that he had had two good games in a row!
Neglecting, of course, his 9 point performance between this game, where he scored 26, and Thursday’s game, where he scored 22. Note to self: never get excited about anything Austin Rivers does EVER, because you will only end up disappointed.
Austin’s almost-two-good-games-in-a-row got me to thinking, has he ever actually had a streak of two consecutive games where he was good? Not just okay, but legitimately good? I did some research, and it turns out that, near the end of his sophomore season, he had an 18 point game followed by a 20 point effort. Who cares if he needed 24 shots in the second one to get his points? It’s good enough for me!
