I just don’t know if all of Julius Randle’s midrange jumpers are sustainable. Actually, I do know. They aren’t. At least not this year. Randle is shooting well below 25% on shots outside of ten feet this season and is not yet any sort of efficient scorer anywhere outside the paint. Since the Lakers’ season has been entirely comprised of garbage time from the opening tip of the first preseason game, that’s fine for now, but it will have to improve if he wants to be the sort of core piece going forward that Lakers fans are hoping he will be.
If he ever turns into a Bosh-esque jumpshooter everybody should feel free to bring up this description and laugh at my doubting ways.
