Here’s a thought exercise for you. How many shots would you not have blocked if you played Rudy Gobert in a game of one-on-one? Half of them? A few? None? It depends on your basketball skill-level, obviously. NBA players can get most of them past him, but someone like me would be hard-pressed to have even one shot hit rim. I do bad enough against guys who are average NBA shooting-guard height. Gobert’s insane wingspan would negate any quickness advantage I might have.
It’s a good thing that I won’t ever get to find out. I like maintaining the illusion that if I’m an NBA-bound basketball stud by playing against middle-schoolers.
