Maybe I’m displaying my ignorance here, but wasn’t Cody Zeller supposed to be more of a scorer than he is right now? It’s his third year in the league and he’s only scored in the twenties two times. I get that he’s been competing with Al Jefferson for those three years, thus robbing him of opportunities in the paint, but we’re talking about a fourth overall pick here. Fourth overall picks should and do have the clout to tell their coaches “I’m going to get touches and you can’t stop me.” If that doesn’t work, fourth overall picks also have the clout to demand touches from their point guard. It is with these magical “touches” that we will see what Cody can do when he is something other than the fifth option on offense.
Hear that Cody? That’s the clock ticking. There isn’t much time left before you becomes a bust. You might already be one. Tick tock tick tock goes the career clock. Tick tock tick tock.
