Tyler Johnson 16 Points Full Highlights (1/17/2016)

Two players locked in a struggle for the ages, their destinies inseparable, bound with the twine of conflict. Man against man, will against will, warfare of both mind and body. A storyline that would capture the public’s attention in an instant, were they to be made aware of it. You perhaps do not know yet of what I speak, but now, the veil of ignorance is lifted to allow in the nourishing light of knowledge!

Who is the best North Dakota-born player right now? Tyler Johnson or Doug McDermott? Tyler has scored more points and also averages more points per game, but that’s because Tom Thibodeau took one look at Doug’s whiteness and declared him incapable of playing defense. However, Doug was college player of the year, something that Tyler certainly was not. Tyler was, as the OKC commentators kindly remind us, merely a three-point gunner at Fresno State.

Both players were born in Grand Forks (fun fact: it’s the state’s third-largest city). If one of them was born out in the middle of a cornfield we could at least say that he’s probably the worse player, but nope.

Doug probably has more potential out of the two but I’m actually just saying that because of both players’ respective draft positions. Right now I’m willing to call this one a draw until a few more years have passed. All I’m hoping for is that at least one of them surpasses Mark Landsberger (????) for the title of “Best North Dakotan Baller to Ever Live.”
