Spencer “Din-Dins” Dinwiddie lowkey shot poorly from the field last season (39%; in my book, anything below 40% is unacceptable), so I just sort of assumed that he was shooting poorly from the field this season too. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I saw that he’s shooting 47% from the field on a higher volume of shots than ever before!
This is honestly like a revelation to me. I had to lie down for a while after I found out because it’s so shocking. My entire opinion of Din-Dins changed in an instant. Before, I was thinking he’s an okay point guard that can hit big shots sometimes, but isn’t the answer for any team as the long-term starter. Now I’m thinking, there’s no reason he couldn’t start for a playoff team. In fact, he’s so good that he DESERVES to start for a playoff team, not come off the bench for a bad team like the Nets. Sorry Nets fans. I just unilaterally decided that you don’t deserve Din-Dins.
Meanwhile, if there are any masochistic Knicks fans watching this video, don’t you wish that Frank Ntilikina (lottery pick) could be even a third as good as Din-Dins (second round pick)?
