Two 18-point games for Furkan Korkmaz in a row. This is an onslaught the likes of we have never before seen from The Motherfurker (ignoring, as usual, his nuts Summer League game because that wasn’t the real NBA). He’s gone from racking up DNPs to playing decent minutes to playing decent minutes and scoring 18 points to STARTING and scoring 18 points. His trajectory is through the roof right now.
And he’s doing it for a team that is winning games. He’s not some scrub putting up counting stats on a bad team while not contributing to winning basketball. Korkmaz is a non-scrub helping his playoff-bound team notch W’s.
Well, maybe not this game. I don’t know what really happened (other than that Spencer Dinwiddie went off), but the 76ers lost. But that’s not important. A single loss in a single regular season game isn’t important. What is important is that Korkmaz is quickly developing into a nice role-player. He didn’t just score tonight: he passed as well. Since I can see clearly what his skin color is, I can just assume that his basketball IQ is really high and now he’s showing it.
