Hear that part at around the one minute mark? The part where Austin Carr melodiously moans “Delly, Delly, Delly!”? Yeah, I was seriously considering looping that audio clip throughout the entire duration of the video at a low volume, but still loud enough to be unsettling. Nothing implies “total mental breakdown” like the sound of a basketball commentator mindlessly repeating the name of his favorite Australian player in an almost sexual manner.
I did something like that before, involving Stacey King saying “Doug McBuckets” repeatedly. It was not very well received, and rightfully so. It is not my place to create art out of these highlights, or to make a mockery of the beautiful game of basketball.
