Jalen Brunson 14 Points Full Highlights (12/8/2018)

There’s something about Jalen Brunson’s face that makes him look way older than he is. He’s sort of got that Malcom Brogdon thing going where he looks really stately and composed because of his square head. When I look at him it’s very easy for me to imagine that he’s a middle-aged, middle-management type working in an office setting somewhere, wearing a collared shirt and tie. But he’s not. He’s 22 years old and he plays in the NBA.

Maybe it’s because he’s just slightly chubbier than expected, at least in the cheeks. Being pudgy can be the difference between looking like an NBA player and looking like a guy who spends all day typing things into spreadsheets, drinking coffee nonstop, taking conference calls, and sternly looking over the top of his glasses while telling his subordinates that they failed to meet sales projections for yet another quarter.

There’s not much chance that Brunson finishes the season as the Mavs’ best rookie, but the way he looked in this game, he could at least win the 2RROTY award (second round rookie of the year, an award that is limited to players who were drafted in the second round only).
