Justise Winslow 21 Points/9 Assists Full Highlights (12/8/2018)

I’ve previously been skeptical of the “Justise Winslow is a point guard” movement, but the stats aren’t lying to me and my eyeballs aren’t lying to me either. Here’s what the stats say: Winslow had nine assists in this game. Here’s what my eyeballs say: Winslow is competent at running pick and rolls, which is a skill that a lot of “real” point guards fail to master. While I wouldn’t say that he’s at the LeBron or Hayward level of point-forwarddom, he’s rapidly approaching the Giannis or James Johnson level of point-forwarddom.

The crazy thing is that James Johnson is one of the better comparisons for Winslow, and they play on the same team! (you might have forgotten what Johnson is up to given that he’s been in and out with injuries). For a long time, Johnson was the post-LeBron LeBron in Miami, but the organization might be transitioning to Winslow being the post-LeBron LeBron.

Now that Winslow has had two good games in a row, it’s definitely not the time to call him “Bustise”. I should call him “Winsow” because he only has W’s and no L’s.
