The Wizards aren’t going to make the playoffs. That dream is dead, I don’t care how early it is in the season. Even if they managed to improve enough to snag the 8th seed or whatever, they’ll still get stomped by the Cavs.
I’m not advocating tanking or anything. I’m just saying, why not put a lineup of young talent out there and see what they can do? Prepare for a future where it’s not just John Wall and Gortat’s limp Polish sausage.
Force feed Kelly Oubre Jr. minutes, for one thing. Him and Otto Porter, 48 minutes a game pretty much. You’re only young once, gotta take advantage. Add some, uh, John Wall in there, yeah, that sounds good. Bradley Beal once he comes back, but until then some extra, let’s see, maybe Dejuan Blair? Then you need a center, so, I guess, well, Ryan Hollins is a center, and he’s still young, right? Right. That’s a pretty good lineup right there. Wall-Oubre-Porter-Blair-Hollins. Won’t win many games, but gets the fans excited for the future.
