Now’s the time when Malik Beasley needs to step up. With the unusually large number of injuries the Nuggets are dealing with right now, he’s suddenly become one of their main guys instead of the near-afterthought that he was for the first quarter of the season. It’s easy for me to tell him he needs to step up when I’m the one sitting in my comfy chair in front of my computer and he’s the one going up against some of the world’s most elite basketball players, but that doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to provide my opinion.
Personally, I have never “stepped up” to anything in my life, other than perhaps making a larger-than-usual quantity of highlight videos in one sitting. Otherwise, my circumstances have been comfortable enough that I’ve never had to rise to the occasion like Beasley is going to have to do in the coming games. Neverthless, I have some bits of advice for him. One could even call them “pro tips”:
-Try to score the ball because the team that has the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
-Get tips from Gary Harris on how to go from not so good to really good in a short amount of time. He should have plenty of time to sit around and give advice because he’s injured.
-When Jokic passes you the ball, you shoot it. No hesitation.
-Pump yourself up before games by listening to Jock Jams CD’s and flexing your muscles in front of a mirror.
-Do some “manscaping” in your “down there area” even if you’re not seeing any ladies right at the moment. It just helps with your overall confidence probably.
-Pray to God that you’re not the next to get injured. Being injured will severely hinder your ability to “step up”.
