With all the losing the Suns are doing lately, I’m getting kind of curious about how T.J. Warren would look on a winning team. Not saying that I want him traded, I would never even suggest that, he’s part of the Suns’ core (such as it is) and I don’t want to cause their fanbase any extra pain, since they have already endured so much. I’m just wondering, would he be an efficient 20 ppg scorer with good teammates surrounding him, giving him space to do his thing, or would he be an 8th man whose game doesn’t translate at all to real life wins?
Right now, we have no way of knowing. All we have to go on is his five years with the Suns, where the win situation just gets worse and worse as we get further on in his career. We could simulate stuff in NBA2K by trading him to the Warriors for Klay Thompson and see how things shake out, but that’s just a simulation. We’re already living in a simulation; we don’t need another one.
